About Sisi

SISI is a Swahili word which means “All of Us”.  SISI is a non-profit organization that was organized by an African woman who understands first hand the suffering the poor of the African continent have to endure daily just to stay alive.   SISI seeks to empower Africa’s women first, as we feel women are the backbone of the world and its health.  We hope to see African women and their families free of HIV/AIDS one day, but until that day, we are going to provide women and children, who are the victims of the HIV epidemic, with the services and care they need.

Founded in 2019 by Emmy Shirima who started to volunteer with her community at the age of fifteen years, when she realized that she couldn’t continue with secondary school and had to find work.    While working she also volunteered with an international organization and a local non-profit organization.

Ms. Emmy is originally from Tanzania East Africa.  She spent her formal years in Arusha under the shadow of the great mountain Kilimanjaro.  Emmy was interested in helping children who were orphaned very early in her life.  She worked as a volunteer with Maria Stopes Clinic in an HIV/AIDS outreach program to help people in their struggles with life and the disease.  She bathed and fed them as a teenager, and this left an indelible mark on her that she never forgot.  She is currently a student in her last semester at San Francisco State University’s International Relations Program.  Emmy speaks Swahili and English fluently and has many interests outside the University.

“None of us, including me, ever do great things.  But we can all do small things with great Love, and Together we can do something Wonderful”. Mother Theresa.

Sisi will help women in various communities in Tanzania regions by advocating their rights, supports their economic status and improve their health.

 Mission

Our mission is to give hope to the women, children, and families affected by HIV/AIDS.  We will give them the information, support both in nutrition and medicines so that they may have the opportunity to have a happy and loving life.

We seek to aid women so that they might provide a healthy environment for their children and their family.  We will provide the tools and education in order that the women may be able to support themselves.  It is our intention to help poor families living with HIV/AIDS during and after treatments.

One of the problems for poor families in Africa is being unable to afford nutritious foods.  When a person is infected with HIV and is taking medicines to suppress their activity in their bodies, they need foods that will help them to stay strong.  SISI will help to provide them with this food.

Our Mission

Our Vision

SISI vision is to pave a road toward a brighter future for the vulnerable mothers and children, widows and orphans, and bring hope to the HIV/AIDS patients throughout their journey to a productive life and the community around them

One day in the near future we hope to have a radio station run by women that address women’s issues in East Africa.  We envision a SISI Radio Station that is informative and a positive force for women and their families.  We hope that it can be independently funded through donations and if successful, government grants or private grants.

This also would be a nonprofit endeavor as well.  It will provide good information that can be trusted.  It will provide a reliable source of unbiased knowledge and general goodwill.  The world needs the woman’s voice and we intend to help to establish that Song.  If we can see it, dream it, sing it, we can materialize it with SISI.  It will also give access to radio for young women artists, and intellectuals to give positive role models to all women, and hopefully, that will transmit into political action and equality for women in Africa.
